UNITY VR GAME

Another graduate intern and I made this project during our graduation internship. The idea of this project was
to teach people what to look out for when flying a drone, so not the flying itself but everything around it.

This application was meant to replace the course you had to follow to get a drone certificate.

In this simulation, you have to inspect the turbine with your drone.

Watch out there are obstacles on the way, you must react accordingly. 

You earn points based on how well you fly the drone and how you reacted to the obstacles.
You start the simulation with a choice where you can take off. There are a couple of places to choose from,
some places are better than others and you get more points for those. How good a place is, is based on
the visibility of the goal and if you have space to safely take off your drone. During your flight, you always
need to have eyes on the drone or else you get negative points. During the simulation, there is a chance
that a helicopter will fly by, and you need to fly your drone lower to the ground or else it could crash.
I mostly worked on the mechanics of the drone, making the drone fly realistic. I was a personal goal for me to try and simulate it how it in real life also is. I did a lot of research about the physics of the drone and how to implement that in this simulation. You have four places where force is applied(the four rotors), for the stabilization of the drone I also used an algorithm that they actually use with real drones. I'm really happy with the outcome, I was really surprised how well it looked and smooth it went. I also worked on
implementing Virtual Reality.
